Faculty Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I go if I need to fill out or edit a testing agreement?
When a student requests a test to be taken through CAR, an email is sent to your lanecc.edu email address with a link where you can fill out the testing agreement. If you need to make changes to your testing agreement or you need help filling it out, call CAR at x5280.
Who do I talk to if a student asks for accommodations that were not in their Letter of Accommodation (LOA)?
Adjustments in academic accommodations are common as the effects of disabilities may ebb and flow and because classes and learning environments change. Instruct the student to contact their CAR primary advisor to discuss any accommodation changes they may need to their Letter of Accommodation.
What services does CAR provide for my students?
The Center for Accessible Resources (CAR) provides academic accommodations and tools for students, faculty and staff. We strive to educate and increase awareness of disability issues. We work with students with disabilities to figure out what accommodations or adjustments will be useful to improve access to the learning environment, for both credit and noncredit classes. We also assist students in developing learning strategies that can be used while attending college.
Where do I voice concerns or provide feedback for CAR's accommodations or accommodation processes?
CAR welcomes feedback on policies and procedures for accommodations. You may call our front desk at x5150 or visit us in Building 19, Room 231. You can also provide feedback via email at AccessibleResources@lanecc.edu. Lastly, our faculty survey is released annually to all faculty members to provide feedback and rate CAR's performance. The survey is anonymous, and all faculty are encouraged to take it.
