Sustainable Practices - Climate
According to the 2014 National Climate Assessment, "Global climate is changing and this is apparent across the United States in a wide range of observations. The global warming of the past 50 years is primarily due to human activities, predominantly the burning of fossil fuels." Climate change threatens human health, ecosystems, and political stability around the world.
Lane Community College believes that higher education has an ethical responsibility to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and lead our world toward a better future by:
- Helping to find a path toward sustainability.
- Equipping our future leaders to build a socially diverse, just, and sustainable society.
- Modeling sustainability for our communities.
Lane is committed to fulfilling this responsibility. This page provides information about what Lane is doing to decrease emissions and it also provides helpful information for learning about climate-related issues.
