Profile: Sarah M. Nemecek is a local movement artists teaching in the community. Sarah currently teaches part time at Lane Community College, and the University of Oregon. She also works as a teaching artists for LCC's Arts Integration program, and teaches in the local high school academic classes, using theories of movement to further understanding of classroom curricula through a kinesthetic/experiential way of knowing.

Sarah is also artistic director of En Masse a local collective which utilizes non-traditional forms and spaces for performance works. Sarah's dance background encompasses a variety of styles of movement, and references everything from classical to the avante-garde. Sarah graduated with her MFA in Dance from the University of Oregon in spring of 2006 with emphases in collaborative choreographic processes and somatic/ physiological integration for the dance classroom.

She also received a B.S. in Kinesiological Sciences with an emphasis in Biomechanics from UNLV in 2003. Sarah has presented research at the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science Conference in 2004, and has an article being published in the Journal of Dance Education (winter 08 edition).
