Profile: Margo Van Ummersen earned a M.A. in Dance in 1992. Founder and Artistic Director of Rose Hips Dance Company, a contemporary performance group of seven women, Margo's choreography is known for it's highly expressive, uniquely kinesthetic voice.
Collaborating with film makers, composers, and visual artists, she has created over fifty dances and presented four full evening-length works.

Margo's background includes extensive musical and theatrical training, performance studies at Naropa Institute and ten years involvement with Contact Improvisation community. Currently she is on the faculty at Cascade Institute for Massage teaching Body Movement Analysis and teaches Modern Technique, Improvisation, Composition, and Musical Theatre at Lane.
