Many projects and workgroups on campus contribute to ongoing assessment of both the effectiveness of college programs and services, and the degree to which we are meeting the objectives of our core themes (and hence our mission).

The following groups and activities are key to gathering, assessing, and sharing data about a wide variety of activities related to our core themes and objectives.

  • Accreditation: Accreditation is an ongoing process for the college where it examines and assesses its practices, policies, and services in order to determine how successfully it is fulfilling its mission and goals. The process evolves over several stages of self-study, with each stage culminating in a report (1-year, 3-year, 5-year, and 7-year)
  • Assessment Team: The Assessment Team has articulated five clear Core Learning Outcomes (CLOs) for the college, and supports an ongoing conversation about assessment across campus, including providing faculty professional development funds for assessment projects.
  • Department Planning: Starting in spring 2014, the college has been reviewing current departmental planning practices, researching best practices, then developing and implementing improvements. Changes include transitioning to a comprehensive Program Review process for the college.
  • Strategic Enrollment Management: The SEM work-group has created a plan for 2015-18 to address enrollment management.
  • Governance Councils: The governance system is charged with planning and policy development for the college and is made up of seven councils. Six councils have responsibility for specific college functions. The College Council is charged with overall responsibility for the operation and effectiveness of the system and with specific budget development activities.
  • Achieving the Dream: The Achieving the Dream Initiative enhances Lane students' success by building an evidence based, student centered, results oriented culture that engages all campus stakeholders.
  • Institutional Research, Assessment, and Planning: IRAP is a resource of expertise in research, assessment, and planning (including methodology, analysis, interpretation, and communication of information), and actively support initiatives and ongoing systems
