Institutional Effectiveness
Lane's institutional effectiveness model involves integrating and aligning institutional planning and effectiveness efforts with a focus on student learning and success. The model forms the basis for regular and effective assessment of the adequacy of college resources, capacity, effectiveness of operations, and the accomplishment of core theme objectives. All together, this work ensures the college regularly evaluates mission fulfillment, and communicates findings to the larger community.
Lane's institutional effectiveness model consists of six essential and interrelated elements: 1) core themes, 2) an institutional effectiveness committee, 3) regular monitoring of data, 4) annual assessment reports, 5) implementation of needed changes, and 6) clear communication.
Many committees and teams across campus produce and analyze data that play a key role in the model. Work from such groups as Accreditation, Achieving the Dream, Assessment, Department Planning, Institutional Research, Assessment, Planning (IRAP), and Strategic Enrollment Management, provides a wide array of information that the institutional effectiveness committee will gather and assess for its reports to the planning and governance bodies on campus.
Our effectiveness model supports the college's continual adaptation to assessment findings, ensuring that decision-making bodies at the college adjust policies and practices as needed to address areas of improvement as they come to light, and thereby ensuring organizational adaptation and sustainability.
