Statewide organization of locally-based groups that work to create communities accountable to a standard of human dignity: the belief in the equal worth of all people, the need for equal access to justice and the right to self-determination. Oregon League of Women Voters

Oregon Center for Public Policy
Public policy think tank using research and analysis to advance policies and practices that improve the economic and social opportunities of all Oregonians. Extensive list of resources, tools, fact sheets, blogs, links, more.

Oregon Health Action Committee

PCUN En Español
Union of farmworkers, nursery, and reforestation workers, and Oregon's largest Latino organization. Fundamental goal is to empower farmworkers to understand and take action against systematic exploitation and all of its effects. Alliance for a Just Society

Human Rights Education Associates
International NGO that supports human rights learning; training of activists and professionals; development of educational materials and programming; and community-building through on-line technologies. Services include assistance in curriculum and materials development; training of professional groups; research and evaluation; clearinghouse of education and training materials; networking human rights defenders and educators. Includes learning center study guides and EXTENSIVE resource lists (e.g., Library contains over 3,000 full-text guides, curricula, textbooks and other documents that can be used for both formal and non-formal education about, for and in human rights.)Materials free of charge. Available in 9 languages.

Center for Community Change
Builds the power and capacity of low-income people, especially low-income people of color, to have a significant impact in improving their communities and the policies and institutions that affect their lives; ensures grassroots voices are heard in Washington and shape the national conversation; unite grassroots groups and leaders across race and ethnicity, issues and geography to solve problems facing low-income people, nurture youth and leaders.

Peace and Justice Studies Association
Brings together academics, K-12 teachers and grassroots activists to explore alternatives to violence and share visions and strategies for peacebuilding, social justice, and social change. Serves as a professional association for scholars in the field of peace and conflict resolution studies, and is the North-American affiliate of the International Peace Research Association. Includes resources, blog, speaker's bureau, conferences, calendar, media, networking.

Amnesty International
World's largest grassroots human rights organization. Investigates and exposes abuses, educates and mobilizes public, and helps transform societies to create a safer, more just world. Received the Nobel Peace Prize. Extensive resources, tools, campaigns, blog, research, news, events, more.

Teaching for Change
Provides teachers and parents with tools to transform schools into socially equitable centers of learning. Works with school communities to develop and promote pedagogies, resources and cross-cultural understanding for social and economic justice in the Americas. Programs in professional development and Tellin' Stories Project, building grassroots multiracial parent power in schools. Includes publications and online catalog.

Southern Poverty Law Center 
Civil rights organization known for legal actions against white supremacists, and for exploited workers, abused prison inmates, disabled children and other victims of discrimination; tracks hate groups. Teaching Tolerance program produces and distributes – free of charge – documentary films, books, lesson plans and other materials that promote tolerance and respect in our nation's schools. Includes hate map, blogs, civil cases, extensive resources.

Teaching Tolerance
Dedicated to reducing prejudice, improving intergroup relations and supporting equitable school experiences for our nation's children. Provides free educational materials to teachers and other school practitioners in the U.S. and abroad. Includes info on their magazine, publications, teaching kits, professional development, classroom activities.

Human Rights Watch 
Investigates and expose human rights violations and hold abusers accountable. Includes info on grants, films, jobs, fellowships, internships, news, info by country and issue.

Children's Defense Fund
Champion policies and programs that lift children out of poverty; protect them from abuse and neglect; and ensure their access to health care, quality education and a moral and spiritual foundation, particular attention to the needs of poor and minority children and those with disabilities. Extensive resources, including research library.

Educators for Social Responsibility
Works directly with educators to implement systemic practices that create safe, caring, and equitable schools ... provides professional development, consultation, and educational resources to adults who teach young people in preschool through high school. Includes resources, online store and online teacher center.

National MultiCultural Institute (NMCI)
Work with individuals, organizations, and communities to facilitate personal and systemic change through the development of strategic initiatives, partnerships, and programs that promote an inclusive and just society. Includes publications, training resources, leadership development institutes and conferences.
