Specific Conferences:

  • National Association for Multicultural Education Association (NAME) Conferences – Annual national conferences held since 1991. Regional and state conferences and meetings are also held. Conferences for all levels of education, different academic disciplines and from diverse educational institutions and occupations.
  • National Multicultural Institute (NMCI) – Large annual conferences (50,000) and on-site workshops designed to work with individuals, organizations, and communities in creating a society strengthened and empowered by diversity.
  • Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication - Professional development opportunities for people working in education, student services, training, counseling, business, and consulting in domestic diversity and international/intercultural contexts. Takes place in Portland, OR.
  • International Conference on Diversity in Organizations, Communities and Nations - For scholarly, government and practice-based participants with an interest in diversity and community. The Conference examines the concept of diversity as a positive aspect of a global world and globalised society. Supports a move away from simple affirmations that 'diversity is good' to effects and uses of diversity on differently situated communities in the context of globalization.
  • Diversity and Inclusion Conference and Exposition – sponsored by the Society for Human Resources Management. Includes networking events, keynotes, recertification, focus areas, preconference events.
