Keys to Success Workshop

Academic Progress Standards Interventions

Lane provides a series of progressive interventions to students who are not meeting the college's Academic Progress Standards (APS). The interventions are designed to help students:

  •  know the difference between Academic Progress Standards that apply to all students and Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards;
  • understand how making good academic progress relates to finishing College in less time, with less cost, and with more positive outcomes;
  • examine the many reasons that students end a term without achieving APS;
  • connect with other students who understand the challenges in College;
  • discover strategies that will address barriers and promote success;
  • learn about resources Lane offers to help students overcome these obstacles;
  • develop a personalized plan for success that helps students achieve goals and satisfy academic standards.

Alert 1 Online Keys to Success Workshop is accessed through your Moodle page. It is an online intervention that you can do on your own schedule as long as you have a computer, printer and internet connection. Carefully read and follow all instructions to complete the online Keys to Success Workshop.

Alert 2 In-person Keys to Success Workshop. If you were placed on Alert Two status, you must successfully complete the 90-minute, in-person Keys to Success workshop to have your registration hold released. This means you must participate in the entire Keys to Success workshop and complete a Success Plan in full. Please arrive 5 minutes early and stay for the entire workshop. Register for an in-person Keys to Success workshop

Alert 3 Back On Course Class is required after the third time a student does not meet Academic Progress Standards. Alert 3 Information Sessions are held to help students understand what is expected at Alert 3 and to learn how to sign up for a Back On Course class.  Register for an Alert 3 Information Session

Alert 4 Dismissal. If a student does not meet Academic Progress Standards in a fourth term, they will be asked to leave the College for at least two terms. Students on Dismissal will need to prepare a Petition to Return to Lane, and that plan will need to be approved prior to the student being able to register for classes again.  Register for an Alert 4 Information Session
