Early Childhood Education

Early Childhood Education is now a part of the Social Science Division!

For students whose career goal is to teach children from birth to pre-kindergarten age in childcare centers and in-home settings, Lane Community College offers a two year, Early Childhood Education Associate of Applied Science Degree as well as a one year, ECE Certificate.

Extended educational opportunities include:

• Class related to state-mandated training for individuals already working in the field;
• Parenting skills classes;
• General Interest Classes
• Skill building outside of seeking a degree

INFORMATION ABOUT THE OREGON PROMISE FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ENTERING LCC:

Please check out this link to the OSAC website. Specifically, OSAC has a listserv that individuals can sign up for to receive information updates about Oregon promise.

Complete the form to be added to the list. The website says that the listserv provides current information on the Oregon Promise on a frequest basis.

For students interested in transferring to a 4 year college in addition to completing the ECE AAS degree, please contact Deb Hupcey or Leslie Soriano in Counseling and Advising for Direct Transfer and Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer degree information. Please note, these degrees require a minimum completion of Math 105 with a passing grade.
