March 9, 2016 | The LCC Board of Education calls for formation of a Presidential Search Advisory Committee, made up of students, Lane employees, community members, and three Board members. The Board requests proposals from search firms and appoints Brian Kelly as liaison to shepherd the search process. Internal and external community members are invited to apply for inclusion on Presidential Search Advisory Committee. |
April 13, 2016 | The Board of Education names the Committee and selects Gold Hill Associates, led by Dr. Preston Pulliams, to assist LCC with the Presidential Search. |
May 24-26, 2016 | A series of open forums are held for Lane students, employees and community members to provide feedback and share thoughts about the next president of LCC. |
May 26, 2016 | The Committee meets to review forum feedback and create a presidential profile, which will be used to announce and advertise the position. |
June 8, 2016 | The Board of Education approves the profile as presented. |
July 13, 2016 | The Board of Education clarifies the timeline moving forward and more clearly defines the role of the Presidential Search Advisory Committee. |
September 1, 2016 | Presidential position is posted in multiple publications and online. A link is added to the Presidential Search website, allowing candidates to apply for the position. |
October 15, 2016 | Candidate application deadline for priority consideration. |
September 1-October 28, 2016 | Presidential Search Advisory Committee reviews and scores candidate applications. |
November 2, 2016 | Presidential Search Advisory Committee meets to discuss candidate scoring and make semi-finalist recommendations to the Board of Education. |
November 14-18, 2016 (tentative) | The Board of Education interviews selected semi-finalist candidates and selects finalist candidates. |
January 9-13, 2017 (tentative) | Finalist candidates are invited to campus for interviews, meetings with constituent groups, and sessions open to the public. |
January 16-June 1, 2017 | The Board of Education may opt to perform campus visits for selected candidates. Once the successful candidate is identified, Board of Education negotiates employment contract. Successful candidate is expected to begin work at LCC prior to Mary Spilde's intended retirement date of June 30, 2017. |
