LCC Downtown Campus

The Presidential Search Advisory Committee and Search Consultant were selected by the Board of Education at its April 13, 2016 meeting.  Gold Hill Associates, led by Dr. Preston Pulliams, was chosen to assist the Board with the search.  The Presidential Search Advisory Committee is made up of group designees and selected individuals chosen by the Board from a pool of applicants submitted by Lane faculty, staff, and management as well as students and community members.

Proposed Committee Charge

  1. Aided by a professional search consultant, sponsor internal and external forums to gather information about the qualifications, experience and qualities that would be desirable in LCC’s next president.
  2. Aided by a professional search firm, use the information from these meetings to develop a draft profile for the position of LCC president and submit it to the Board of Education for final approval. (This profile becomes the basis for advertising and recruitment activities.)
  3. Review the pool of applicants and recommend a list of semi-finalists for consideration by the Board of Education.
  4. Sponsor or assist with creation of “meet and greet” opportunities during which internal and external publics, as appropriate, can evaluate and provide feedback about candidates.
  5. Other duties assigned following consultation with board members and the search consultant.

Board members could benefit from receiving a list of LCC Advisory Committee members and LCC donors for use in identifying the person they might appoint to the presidential search advisory committee. Board appointments should reflect the diversity in the District.
