Administrative KnowledgeBase
Capturing and Sharing Knowledge
Kbase.lanecc.edu provides a tool for capturing knowledge into a searchable database. If you see, create, or receive a knowledge object relevant to Lane administrators, help us capture it to this knowledgebase. Just send an email to sst@lanecc.edu with a forwarded email, or a link, or a document, or even a suggested topic and title.
Using the KnowledgeBase
Kbase.lanecc.edu is a library of documentation and quick-reference materials designed to be used by:
- Trainers to ensure that training is complete and accurate
- Trainers to document the skills covered in training and the competency of the trainee on those tasks
- Trainees as learning support tools and memory aides
- Any administrative personnel as memory-support and quality-assurance tools, especially for tasks they perform infrequently.
Quick-Reference Materials
The intent of a knowledgebase is to capture brief tips and reminders of the critical aspects of the task, or quick-reference materials. This supports efficient use during task performance and consistency in training and certification, as well as making them easy to produce and maintain. Long, detailed documentation is less useful for quick-reference and harder to maintain.
Trainer Required
Quick-reference Materials are formatted to be used for on-the-job learning and performance support, not as comprehensive training documents. They are not intended to be used for independent learning; support from a skills trainer certified to deliver training on the task in question is required.
Contribute to the Admin Knowledgebase
Kbase.lanecc.edu is your tool to share and find tips and tools with your administrative peers. You can submit materials to SST@lanecc.edu for publishing, or you can become an editor and share materials directly.
