Friday, November 7, 2014 "BREAK THROUGH CONFLICT" Workshop, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, LCC19 214

Even with the best of intentions, many of us communicate automatically, often not handling conflict as well as we would like, which takes a toll on our professional and personal lives. The models presented in "Break Through Conflict" offer flexible guidelines with progressive steps that are easily learned, applied, and adapted in order to develop and maintain strong, positive relationships and to actually create trust through conflict. The program has evolved from three decades of Drs. Peter and Susan Glaser's published, field-tested research and introduces participants to concrete, tangible skills. More specifically, managing conflict constructively means having the challenging conversations necessary to deliver seamless education and service to Lane's staff and students. This requires a culture where people from all departments have tangible skills and tools to transform conflict into solved problems, strengthened relationships and deepened trust. Only then does conflict become a stimulus for creative problem solving, increased innovation, and the inter-dependent performance required at Lane Community College. The training is open and FREE of charge to Lane Community College staff, and will be provided by Lane managers who have been certified by Drs. Peter and Susan Glaser to conduct the training. All participants will receive the Glaser's "Break Through Conflict" booklet. We hope that you will be able to take advantage of this great professional development opportunity and join us. Registration closes on Monday, Nov. 3rd. Enrollment will be limited to 25 participants, so register now! For more information, contact Donna Koechig at ext. 5307 or koechigd@lanecc.edu.

Most appropriate foe staff who did not attend the Nov 2012 EI sessions.EI Part 2 will take partiipants who have a basic foundation in EI skills into a deeper exploration and practice of EI, as well as how to apply EI to groups in order to create optimal work environments that support two key metrics: return on investment, and return on mission.
