Train the Trainer Program

Application Instructions

  1. Before completing the application, please review the time commitment necessary to participate in the Emotional Intelligence Train the Trainer (TtT) program and seek support from your Department Dean or Manager.
  2. At the time that you submit your application, an email will automatically be sent to your Department Dean or Manager for their response in support of your application and participation in the Emotional Intelligence Train the Trainer Program.

Time Commitment

Each participant in the TtT program must attend all training sessions, complete assignments and be willing to offer one training program each year. The program schedule is as follows:

Time Committment Training Description
One day:
Friday, January 29, 2016
Phase 1: Participants will attend the first Emotional Intelligence session, followed by a gathering with Lizza Robb (Redshift faculty) for an official TtT kick-off.
Three days:
Tuesday, February 16 -
Thursday, February 18, 2016
Phase 2: Through an intensive three-day training program, participants will learn the essentials of dynamic facilitation. The hands-on training will provide opportunity for practice and Redshift faculty feedback.
Time between phases 2 and 4:
(February 19 - March 14)
Phase 3: Participants will leave the February training with assignments that will solidify learning and help each personalize their presentation of the material (e.g., crafting anecdotes to illustrate core concepts).
Two days:
Tuesday, March 15 –
Wednesday, March 16, 2016
Phase 4: This two-day workshop will give participants an opportunity to facilitate pieces of the Emotional Intelligence session. The audience of participants and Redshift faculty will provide feedback as each participant hones their presentation of the material.
Time Commitment in the Future as a Trainer of Emotional Intelligence
If you are selected to participate in the Emotional Intelligence Train the Trainers program, we ask for at least three years of active engagement with Lane's training team that includes keeping current on Emotional Intelligence practices, facilitating at least one workshop per year and participating in additional Train the Trainer courses, as needed.
