LCC League of Innovation Student Literature Contest 2016-2017
Information for 2016/17 contest will be posted when available around February 2017.
The League of Innovation consists of more than 800 institutions and their campuses from 11 different countries and territories. Host college for the National contest is: Dallas County Community College District.
General Eligibility
Contestants must be LCC students enrolled for credit Fall 2016, Winter 2017, or Spring 2017. Entries must be original works and be signed by a sponsoring faculty member.
Judging
LCC judges will award first, second and third place writers in the following categories:
- Poetry
- Fiction
- Essay
- One-Act Play
Awards
LCC will award prizes for first, second, and third place writers in each category. First place submissions from each category will then be submitted to the national competition to compete for the following prizes:
1st place: $500
2nd place: $200
3rd place: $100
Entry Requirements
Students should submit their work electronically (in .doc, .pdf, or .rtf) to:
LLC-Composition@lanecc.edu
Each entry should contain:
- A cover page with author's name, home address, phone number, L#, and email address.
- A student entry form
Maximum Length Requirements:
- Poems: 67 lines
- Essays: 2,500 words
- One-act plays: 3,500 words
- Fiction: 3,500 words
