About me:
When I'm not teaching at LCC, I work as an independent book editor specializing in literary fiction and memoir; that background shows up in my teaching as an emphasis on using vivid writing techniques and personal experience in academic writing. I also teach language awareness in the bigger picture: understanding that words can be used to control people or set them free, to obscure reality or reveal it, to manipulate or empower. My main focus at Lane is teaching in two learning communities developed for the Women in Transition program, and publication of their work in the class journals, Chrysalis and Wings.
