2+2 Opportunities
Most international students at Lane choose to continue on to earn a Bachelor's degree. Most of our international students choose to transfer to the University of Oregon (about half). It is located in the same town as Lane, has both dual enrollment and conditional admission agreements with Lane and is a nationally and internationally renowned university. However, Lane international students have the option to transfer anywhere in the USA and our academic advisors will help them do so!
In the state of Oregon, community college students have the opportunity to earn the Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT) degree or the Associate of Science Oregon Transfer (ASOT) - Business degree. Completion of a transfer degree guarantees that a student has fully met all the lower division general education requirements to enter an Oregon University System (OUS) campus and has junior (3rd year) status for registration purposes. This means that you can complete your general education courses at Lane and then focus on your major requirements once you transfer to a 4 year university. It is important to understand that completion of a transfer degree does not necessarily guarantee admission into specific programs, or fulfillment of specific campus requirements. Please contact an academic advisor to dicuss any additional requirements specific to the 4 year university you would like to attend.
The schools that accept the transfer degrees include:
- University of Oregon
- Oregon State University
- Portland State University
- Southern Oregon University
- Western Oregon University
- Eastern Oregon University
- Oregon Institute of Technology
- Pacific University
For more information please see:
Lane also works closely with Montana State University in Bozeman. In addition recently Lane international students have transferred to: University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Texas, Washington State University, University of Washington, University of Portland, University of California-Davis, SUNY-Buffalo, Texas A&M
Lane advisors will help you transfer to any school but it is important to see Dao Tran as soon as possible to chart your transfer plan!
