ESL IESL

Welcome to English as a Second Language at Lane Community College

The English as a Second Language (ESL) Department at Lane Community College has programs for adult students who wish to improve their oral and written communication skills for work, community, and academic goals.

The ESL department enrolls students from more than 40 different nations and features instructors and staff who are highly-qualified and culturally-sensitive to the needs of second language learners.

Permanent residents and international students study together, and all instruction is conducted exclusively in English. There is no minimum skill level to enroll in ESL classes.

ESL serves about 400 students per term at two locations: Main Campus and the Downtown Campus.
