Other Committee Business:

Under AAS Degree:

  • Should technical courses be included on the list of approved Human Relations and Science/Math/Computer Science requirements.
  • The committee needs to make a decision at this time so we can make departments aware of the guidelines as soon as possible so any changes can be in effect for 2017-18.
  • Determine an approval process for 199 experimental courses
  • Committee charter
  • Grandfathering courses: There are no state guidelines regarding grandfathering of courses for AAOT.
    • If a course that was on the AAOT list, but is no longer offered and has been removed from the catalog, we will still honor the course unless the course content has dramatically changed when a department decreases the credits on a course should it come to the committee in the past it has not.
  • Committee appointments and meeting times for 2016-17
    • Need to ensure members can make the meetings
    • Set up new day/time for meetings (can send out a Doodle poll)
    • Would be beneficial to have representation from Advanced Technology and Health Professions
  • Curriculum form project update and discussion
    • Report on small group meeting with Matt Danskine in IT regarding course approval forms
    • Committee decisions on final content in forms
    • Discussion about next steps
