Renewing and Improving Lane's Training and Learning Facilities

Overview

Voters in the Lane Community College district approved a 15-year, $83 million bond in November 2008 to renovate, upgrade and remodel workforce training and education facilities (See Bond Election).

Lane is a premier provider of higher education and workforce training services in the college district. The district includes all of Lane County and parts of Benton, Linn and Douglas Counties.

The bond has funded improvements to classrooms, labs and infrastructure on main campus, in downtown Eugene, at Eugene airport, and in Florence. Many of these facilities have not been updated for more than 40 years.

Lane serves about 30,000 students each year who seek career and technical training, college transfer courses, skill upgrading, business training, basic education, or lifelong learning.
