National Career Readiness Certificate

National Career Readiness Certificate

The National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is a nationally-recognized credential that can be earned after taking three standardized tests in Reading for Information, Locating Information, and Applied Math. Earning the NCRC demonstrates that you have skills needed by employers nationwide.

In order to earn a certificate, you must score at a level 3 or above (out of a total of 7 levels) on all three tests. If you score at a level 5 or above, you have demonstrated that you have skill levels needed for 90% of more than 15,000 jobs included in nationwide studies.

NCRC testing is free, and normally each of the three tests take about an hour.

To be eligible, you must have an active account with WorkSource Lane.

To learn more about how to earn the NCRC please read our Frequently Asked Questions below or ask our Workforce Development Department staff.

NCRC testing is offered at the Workforce Development Department.  Please call (541) 463-5223 to schedule.  It is also offered at WorkSource Lane, 2510 Oakmont Way by calling them at (541) 686-7601

The NCRC is a requirement for some scholarships and an important step in preparing for your future.
