Program Overview

The Business Office/Customer Service PASS program is a full-time day-time program that combines college level Career Technical Business classes, and non-credit foundational skills courses. It is designed to prepare ABS/GED/ELL students to transition into college level studies. Students in this program will take both college credit classes and program specific non-credit classes simultaneously. At the end of the program, students may have earned a Career Pathways Certificate in Customer Service, earned credits towards an AAS degree in Career Technical Business areas, and developed their college success skills. Students will also receive advising towards either continuing their education and/or job search support. 

Who should apply for the Business Office/Customer Service PASS?

The Business PASS is specifically designed for those individuals interested in pursuing a career and/or further education in the Career Technical Business areas and who are at least one of the following:

  • English Language Learners
  • Individuals who have not completed a high school diploma or GED
  • Individuals with an Accuplacer reading score of 70 or lower
  • Other individuals who might benefit from integrated reading/writing support and proactive advising

What days and times are the classes held?

The cohort will be three terms long, beginning Fall 2016 and ending Spring 2017. Coaching and support after completion of classes may continue at various lengths based on each individual need. Classes are scheduled Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Additional homework and on-line work will be required.

What is the cost of this program?

THIS IS NOT A SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM!! The cost of this program is based on normal tuition and fees. Students take 6 to 8 college credits each term. We assist students in finding appropriate scholarships and Financial aid to help them with the cost of tuition and fees. Ultimately any un-covered cost is the students’ responsibility. There are many targeted scholarships available to students eligible for this program. Integrated advising, coaching and job search support is offered at no additional cost to the student.

*Students without a GED or high school diploma may be eligible for Federal Financial Aid for this program based on Ability to Benefit guidelines.
