EUGENE, Ore. — Sharon Stiles of Florence and Rosie Pryor of Eugene were elected chair and vice chair, respectively, of the 2016/17 Lane Community College Board of Education, at the board’s July 13 meeting.
Stiles told the board, “I’m looking forward to a promising year of positive movement. We have big challenges in our budget balancing but I have confidence in this board’s ability to work together to come to the best fiduciary decisions.”
Both women are in their second four-year term on the board and each has served as chair previously. Stiles was first elected in 2009 and chaired the board in 2012/13. She holds the Zone 1 seat on the board which includes the Western part of the college district. Pryor has served on the board since 2011 and was chair in 2013/14. She holds the At-Large, Position 6 seat on the board which includes the entire district.
