Eugene, Ore. – The Student Production Association of Lane Community College presents Rajiv Joseph’s Gruesome Playground Injuries in the Blue Door Theatre on Lane’s main campus on June 4 at 7:30 pm. The production will be followed by videos made from the Acting for Camera class. Admission is by donation, and there will be FREE PIZZA provided during intermission.
Rajiv Joseph’s Gruesome is the story of a boy and a girl, and all of the ways that love can hurt us. It is directed by Lane student David Arnold, a usual suspect in productions at Lane, having been featured as Prior Walter in Angels in America, Tupolski in The Pillowman, and most recently as Iachimo in Cymbeline. This production is an all-student effort and is SPA’s last show of the year.
Students Aaron Smart and Kyrah Woodruff comprise the cast. Designers include Gordon McFarland, Ty Potter, Aaron Smart, David Arnold, Lisa Scholes and Abigail Dolby. The production team is rounded out by Rebecca Blanchard’s contributions as stage manager.
This production is the Lane swan song for David Arnold and Aaron Smart before they transfer to Central Washington University to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre. Come see them now before they take the theatre world by storm!
Admission for Gruesome Playground Injuries is free or by donation. Although reservations are not required, audience members who would like to reserve a seat may do so by calling 541-463-5648.
