Kam Wah Chung storytelling event at LCC May 10

image of event posterEUGENE, Ore. — The Lane Community College Library will host storyteller Rebecca Hom who will talk about Oregon Chinese pioneers Ing Hay and Lung On, on Tuesday, May 10 from 2-3:30 p.m. in the Haugland Commons, Center Building second floor, LCC main campus, 4000 E. 30th Ave., Eugene. The public is welcome to attend.

Ing Hay and Lung On built the Kam Wah Chung Chinese medical clinic, general store, community center and residence in the 1870s in John Day, Oregon. Their influence remains to modern times. Kam Wah Chung is now a museum, State Heritage Site and National Historic Landmark; see http://bit.ly/1qln6CR.

The presentation is part of the Chinese Oregon Speaker Series sponsored by the Oregon Historical Society in partnership with Oregon libraries.
