Auditions for Lane’s production of Shakespeare’s Cymbeline January 25th

Eugene, Ore. – Student Production Association of Lane Community College will hold auditions for their production of Shakespeare's Cymbeline directed by Bill Hulings in The Blue Door Theatre at Lane in Building 6 on Monday, January 25th, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.

The Student Production Association is pleased to bring one of Shakespeare's most infrequently produced works to Eugene audiences. Cymbeline is an action adventure story of a young heroine fighting for her love; the evil queen who’s out to get her; a king standing up to the Roman empire—and that just scratches the surface.

Director Bill Hulings has performed in productions around the country with companies such as Seattle Reperatory Theatre, the Guthrie, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, and many more. He is a member of the Society of American Fight Directors and the Actors Equity Association. Recently, he directed Rapture, Blister, Burn at Oregon Contemporary Theatre.

Auditions are open to students and community members. Musicians and dancers/movers are encouraged to attend. Actors may arrive between 4:00–7:00 pm; no need to sign up for an audition time. To schedule an alternate audition time, contact Brian Haimbach (below). A short prepared monologue is appreciated, but not mandatory (Shakespeare is helpful, or just tell us a joke). Auditions will also consist of cold readings from the script.

37 named roles are available. No roles have been precast, and all genders, types, and ages will be considered. Rehearsals will begin in late February or early March, with performances April 25th - May 1st. Rehearsals will be scheduled based on actor availability.

Please contact Brian Haimbach at haimbachb@lanecc.edu or 541-463-5648 for more information.
