SPA presents “Winter Shorts” at LCC Feb 5-13

image of Director Ally Tigue with three cast membersEugene, Ore. – Student Productions Association of Lane Community College presents “Winter Shorts 2016,” a world premiere of nine new works for the theatre.

Performance dates are February 5-7 and 10-13 at 7:30 and February 7 at 2:00 in the Blue Door Theatre on Lane’s campus. The Wednesday, February 10 performance will be a “pay what you can” opportunity.

SPA will present the WORLD PREMIER of nine short plays written by Lane theatre students (with three from local professional playwrights). This production offers Lane theatre students the opportunity to take full control of the production process beginning from the initial idea of a play all the way to closing night. “Winter Shorts” will be directed, acted, and designed by students. The plays are a mix of comedy and drama and are appropriate for ages six and up.

After each performance, the audience will be encouraged to stay and provide their feedback about these new works to the playwrights. Come and be part of the future life of these new plays.

The local playwrights are Jonathan Graham, Nancy West, and Nancy Hopps. The student playwrights are Rebecca Blanchard, Aaron Smart, Taylor Freeman, Reese Madden, and Jackson Toole.

The productions will be directed by: Marla Norton, Aaron Smart, Taylor Freeman, Reese Madden, Ally Teague, Jonathan Klimoski, and David Arnold.

Tickets are $5.00 for students and seniors and $10.00 for the general public.
High School students always get in for free.
