EUGENE, Ore. - "Scholarships are 'free money' because they do not need to be paid back the way a loan does," says Jackie Bryson an academic advisor at Lane Community College. She adds, "Summer is a great time for Lane students to get started on their scholarship applications."
A Scholarship Workshop on August 5 will provide key information for creating competitive applications that will help increase students' chances of receiving scholarships. "You'll view scholarship winning essays and learn how to write your own," says Kathy Thomas, LCC grant writer. "We will provide a list of scholarship websites to search and participants will learn about two of the largest scholarship resources available to Lane Community College students."
Jackie Bryson, academic advisor, and Kathy Thomas, grant writer, will lead the workshop on Wednesday, August 5, from 3:00-4:20 p.m. in Building 19, Room 241 on Lane's main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue in Eugene. There is no need to preregister.
Lane is an AA/EEO/Veterans/Disabilities Employer
