EUGENE, Ore. — Everyone has experienced wine and food pairings, but cider and food? That's what Lane Community College will do with its "Second Annual Al Fresco! Cider and Bounty in the Garden" outdoor dining extravaganza to be held in the Lane Community College Learning Garden on main campus on Wednesday, July 29.
"We are breaking new ground here!" says event coordinator Paula Westgate.
This year's dinner features "platter after platter of food that has been harvested from the Learning Garden, uniquely infused with WildCraft Cider Works cider and prepared by LCC's award-winning culinary students," says Westgate.
Diners can enjoy Bits and Sips to tour the garden and sample cider and food pairing demos from 5:30-6:30 p.m. before sitting down to the family-style meal from 6:30-8 p.m.
Proceeds from the event directly support the Learning Garden, hands-on student learning opportunities, and technology upgrades in the Center for Meeting and Learning at Lane.
Tickets are $75. Seating is limited. Buy tickets online
Event sponsors include WildCraft Cider Works, Datalogic, Harmony Dental, and Lane Forest Products.
