EUGENE, Ore.— At least 66 people currently need a Senior Companion to help them maintain their ability to live independently at home, says Barbara Susman, director of the Senior Companion Program.

As a Senior Companion Program volunteer, you will help frail elders and adults with disabilities stay independent by providing them with weekly friendly visits. There are now almost 70 clients - - in Springfield, Eugene, Cottage Grove, Junction City, Creswell, Florence, and Oakridge - - waiting for a volunteer.

You must be age 55 or better, meet low income guidelines, serve 15+ hours weekly, and pass a physical exam and criminal background check. Complete pre-service training, ongoing support, and fun events provided.
