EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon Student Public Research Group (OSPIRG) and the Lane Peace Center are co-sponsoring a "Take Back Your Power" teach-in focused on the health, environmental, and political impacts of electromagnetic radiation (EMR) emitted from cell phones, cell towers, Wi-Fi, and smart meters. The teach-in is on Wednesday, February 25 from 4-7:30 p.m. in building 17, room 309, main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue in Eugene.
The event will feature a screening of the film "Take Back Your Power" from 4-5:30 p.m., followed by a Q&A session via Skype with the film's producer Josh Del Sol. After a short intermission the program will resume with presentations from Dr. Paul Dart, an expert on the health hazards of wireless technologies and so called smart meters, and Lane County Commissioner Pete Sorenson, who will focus on the politics of smart meters and cell towers in Lane County.
Lane offers teach-ins such as this as part of its commitment to providing the community with accessible, quality, learning-centered opportunities.
