Exhibit opens with a reception on February 18
EUGENE, Ore. - The David Joyce Gallery at Lane Community College presents the second of three exhibits in the series, "The Tale of Two Palettes/Palates." The second exhibit is "Colorful Historical Stories: an Exploration of the Historical Experiences with Food."
The exhibit includes a delightful spectrum of bright and colorful artwork and art mediums, as well as opportunity to show art created by Northwest and international artists including adults, teachers, students and staff, says gallery director Susan Detroy.
David Joyce Gallery carries on the tradition of David Joyce, artist and LCC instructor. the gallery also feature Joyce's work and information about his life and influence, with a permanent display. The gallery supports art in its many forms and sources, teaching, inspiring and providing visual pleasure. The gallery creates a fresh thematic exhibit each year specializing in the glory and wonder of food, growing plants, culinary arts, hospitality, food markets, travel and the people who learn, work and live in these worlds.
The exhibit opens with a reception on Wednesday, February 18, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the gallery. Artists include Anne Teigen, Margaret Godfrey, Andrei Engelman, Michael Dibitetto, Andi Harmon, Margaret Plumb, Betsy Wolfston, Robert Canaga, Patti McNutt, Judith Sparks, Demetra Kalams, Yunie LeNoue, Judy Peterson, Angelia Peterson, and LCC Child Care Center students.
