LCC Art Gallery is proud to present the Juried Student Art Exhibition. This exhibition will be held from February 17 to March 12. There will be a reception on Thursday, February 18 from 3:00 to 4:00.
The LCC Juried Student Art Show is an exhibition showcasing the best of our current LCC art students. All the student work on display has been created during the past academic year. Along with selection for the exhibition, our student's work will also be juried for various awards as well as this year's League for Innovation representatives for the 29th Annual National League for Innovation Art Competition.
Our jurors for this year's competition will be the father and daughter team of Walter and Kate Ali. For forty years Walter Ali has been a studio potter and instructor in Eugene and Los Angeles. His work is included in collections across the country and abroad. His workshops and classes drew capacity attendance and many of the groups he put together still thrive today.
Kate Ali is a local artist, teaching artist and Public Art Project Manager for the Oregon Arts Commission. She has devoted her career to facilitating creative opportunities for artists and the public at large.
Walter and Kate are excited to have the opportunity to jury the LCC student exhibit as art professionals and as a father and daughter who are devoted to the creative process.
The show runs from February 17 – March 12. A reception will be held on Wednesday, February 18 from 3:00 – 4:00 pm. The reception is free and open to the public. The gallery is located in building 11 on main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue. There is no charge for admission. The Art and Applied Design Department phone number is 541-463-5409.
