LCC sustainability author Margaret Robertson to lecture Feb. 19

Margaret RobertsonEUGENE, Ore. - Margaret Robertson, sustainability instructor at Lane Community College and author of the higher education textbook, "Sustainability Principles and Practice" (Routledge, 2014), will lecture on Thursday, February 19, at 5:30 p.m. at Lane's Downtown Campus, 101 W. 10th Avenue in Eugene. The presentation will be followed by a reception and book-signing.

Robertson's lecture, "Sustainability: Surviving and Thriving in a Changing World," will offer an overview of the broad and diverse field of sustainability including a view of the biosphere as the "instruction manual" on which sustainability work is modeled, connections between the human sphere and the biosphere, and the possibilities for a regenerative future in a healthy and sustainable world.

Robertson is a coordinator of the two-year associate of applied science sustainability coordinator degree program at Lane. She is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and a Sustainability Fellow in the Higher Education Associations Sustainability Consortium. Her textbook is used by colleges and universities with sustainability degree programs and programs in which sustainability is taught.

The presentation is part of the Academic Colloquia series coordinated by Lane Faculty Professional Development.
