Auditions for "Angels in America" at LCC

Eugene, Ore. – Student Productions Association of Lane Community College is seeking actors for the production of Tony Kushner's "Angels in America".

Audition dates are January 27 and 28 from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Ragozzino Performance Hall on LCC's main campus. Actors can arrive any time between 5:00-7:00 and only need to attend one audition date.

SPA will present Tony Kushner's Pulitzer winning duet of plays "Angels in America". The first play "Millennium Approaches" will be fully produced. In order to give audiences the full experience of this masterwork, SPA will present staged readings of the second part, "Perestroika". The same cast will perform in both productions.

Kushner's play is set during the Reagan-era onset of the AIDS crisis in New York City. It tells the story of two couples in conflict and deals with issues including politics, religion, abandonment, and fabulousness. Kushner's "Gay Fantasia on National Themes" is one of the most successful and important plays of the last decade.

Performance dates are April 23-26 and April 30 – May 3, 2015. Rehearsals will be held on LCC's campus beginning February 25 and will be arranged based on actor's availability. The production will be directed by Brian Haimbach.

This play is for adult audiences only.

Parts are available for a combination of eight to twelve men and women of varying ages. Community members are encouraged to audition. Actor will read from the script, no monologue necessary.
