The event is free and open to the public. Her presentation will be followed by a book signing.

"Enrique's Journey" is the story of a young boy's journey from Honduras to the United States to reunite with his mother after 11 years of separation. Kirkus Reviews said of the book, "A heart-wrenching account of one young man's journey to migrate from Honduras to the United States to find the mother who left when he was 5." The story deals with the issues of immigration, exploitation and child abuse, part of a larger narrative on the challenges faced by Latino/Latina communities in Oregon and beyond.

This event is sponsored in part by a grant from the Oregon Education Investment Board in collaboration with MEChA de LCC student organization, Associated Students of Lane Community College, and the Springfield School District, via Lane's Puertas Abiertas Leadership Academy.
