EUGENE, Ore. - The Lane Small Business Development Center (Lane SBDC) is hosting an Open Door Event, on Tuesday, September 16. The center (located on the third floor of the LCC downtown campus, 101 West 10th Avenue, Eugene) will be open for individuals and business owners to drop-in, from 1-8 p.m. Visitors can meet for brief one-on-one informational sessions with Gary Smith, instructor/coach of the signature Small Business Management (SBM) program and Frank Plaisted, instructor/coach of the New Product Development (NPD) program. Center staff will be on-hand to offer information about services offered. Light refreshments will be available.
The new low rates for the programs are $509 for the SBM, $150 for the NPD, and $609 for both. Participants get the equivalent of a personal business coach—at a fraction of the typical cost. The small business management programs make businesses more successful through a unique combination of education, coaching and networking. A customized curriculum helps individuals identify, prioritize and achieve their business goals. The end result is not just improvement in the business, but also in the business owner who fundamentally shifts focus to success!
A Small Business Administration award winner, Smith has been faculty and coach for the Small Business Management program for eight years. Highly successful, he has owned and managed multiple businesses which have thrived throughout the recession; and aptly provides business owners with advice on succeeding in tough financial times. Plaisted, assistant in the SBM program, recently developed and established the NPD program. He has worked with the center for five years and is an engineer and product development researcher.
Participants in both programs range from about to launch businesses to established businesses—the common thread is a desire to improve businesses while improving skills. Register for these small business management programs now. The year-long programs run September 2014 through June 2015.
