Eugene, Ore. – The Lane Music Program will offer three instrumental concerts at the end of Spring Term.
The Lane Symphonic Band, on May 29 at 7:30 pm in the Ragozzino Hall, will feature the Lane Brass Quintet, the Lane Percussion Ensemble, and other small, student-led groups. The Lane Symphonic Band will be performing traditional concert band masterworks by composers Malcolm Arnold and Alfred Reed, along with newer selections composed by composers Brian Balmages, Thomas Doss, and Eric Whitacre.
The Lane jazz Ensemble concert on June 6, alos at 7:30 in the Ragozzino Hall, will feature Spencer Butte Middle School opening for the Lane Jazz Ensemble. In its final performance of the year, The Lane Jazz Ensemble will perform music composed and arranged by the likes of Duke Ellington, Bill Holman, Paul McKee, and Fred Sturm.
On June 8, at 3:00pm in the Ragozzino Hall, The Lane Chamber Orchestra will present the works of Richard Strauss and Ludwig Van Beethoven. Featured will be the Strauss composition Concerto for horn, no. 1, op. 11 in E-flat major; and Beethoven's Symphony no. 5, op.67, in C minor.
Tickets for the concerts are $5 for general admission, and $3 for students and seniors 55 and over. Advance tickets can be purchased at Lanecc.edu/tickets, or at the door. Cash, checks and credit/debit cards are accepted.
