Eugene, Ore. – The Lane Community College Choirs will present a joint program on June 5, 2014 at 7:30pm in the Ragozznio Performance Hall on the LCC main campus.
The Chamber Choir, under the direction of Matthew Svoboda, will offer a variety of styles, ranging from the 16th century to the present. The program includes sacred and secular selections of early music, music of living composers and even a pop selection from 1994. One fast and exciting piece has the ensemble sounding like an Indonesian Gamelan.
The Concert Choir, under the direction of Kathryn Reuter, will perform a Renaissance-era Italian piece called "El Grillo", A modern setting of the "Kyrie" text from the Catholic mass, and a fun rendition of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". There may even be a surprise piece from Africa.
The Gospel Choir, under the direction of Vicki Brabham, will present a rousing program of traditional and contemporary Gospel music. The Gospel Choir's performances are renowned for having the audience on its feet and clapping with the music!
Tickets for the concert are $5 for general admission, and $3 for students and seniors 55 and over. Advance tickets can be purchased at Lanecc.edu/tickets, or at the door. Cash, checks and credit/debit cards are accepted.
