EUGENE, Ore.— Cascade Health Solutions of Eugene was named Cooperative Education Employer of the Year for 2013-14 by Lane Community College at the college's annual recognition event for advisory committees on April 30.
Each year Lane's Cooperative Education department chooses one business or organization from among the 800 participating co-op employers who has been exceptional in providing co-op internship opportunities for Lane students.
"Cascade Health Solutions has shown a high level of commitment to the internship process," said Al King, Dean of the Cooperative Education Division at Lane. "Cascade offers excellent learning experiences to students taking classes in the fields of medical reception, health records technology, medical office assistant, human services and network operations."

Since 2005, more than 23 students have completed one or more internships at Cascade Health Solutions. Six of those co-op students have been hired as regular full-time employees.
Cheryl Boyum, chief executive officer of Cascade Health Solutions said, "It was impressive to see the tremendous volume of support the college receives from advisory committee members. ... We value the part education plays in our community and are pleased that we can support your efforts by contributing to the learning experience of your students.
