Lane Chamber Orchestra performs, Poulenc, Beethoven, Brahms April 6

Hisao Watanabe conducts the Lane Chamber OrchestraEUGENE, Ore. — The Lane Community College Chamber Orchestra, directed by Hisao Watanabe, will perform a concert on Sunday, April 6,2014 at 3:00 p.m.

The program for the concert will open with Francis Poulenc's "Novelette in C for Wind Quintet" , arranged by Geoffrey Emerson. Quintet members are Tara Aprin, flute; Jan Lichenstein, oboe; Laurie Brandt, clarinet; Patricia Moore, bassoon; and Keith Porter, horn.

Following the quintet, the entire Chamber Orchestra will perform Ludwig Van Beethoven's "Fidelio Overture, Op. 72", and Johannes Brahms' "Symphony No. 3, Op. 90, F major".

The concert will be in the small, intimate setting of the band rehearsal room on the Ragozzino Performance Hall first floor. Seating is limited to 60, so patrons are urged to get tickets early. Advance tickets can be purchased at lanecc.edu/tickets. Tickets are $5 general admission and $3 for students and seniors 55 and over.

The Lane Chamber Orchestra is composed of Lane music students, University of Oregon music students, performers from the Eugene Symphony, and members of the music community.
