EUGENE, Ore. – The Lane Community College Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Hisao Watanabe, will perform Beethoven's "Fidelio Overture, Op. 72", and Brahms' "Symphony No. 3, Op. 90, in F major". The concert is set for 3:00 p.m. on February 9 in the Ragozzino Performance Hall on the Lane Community College Main Campus. Tickets for the concert are $5 general admission, and $3 for students and seniors 55 and over.
The "Fidelio Overture" is one of four overtures that Beethoven wrote for his only opera, "Fidelio".
Brahms' "Symphony No. 3" was considered by critics of the day to be the most artistically perfect of Brahms' symphonies.
The Chamber Orchestra is composed of Lane students and members of Lane County's music community.
