“Waiting for Godot” at LCC

Caleb Hunter (Estragon) and Jona Edwards (Vladimir) rehearse a scene from Samuel Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot”Eugene, Ore. – The Student Productions Association of Lane Community College is proud to present Samuel Beckett's "Waiting for Godot" February 7-15, 2014.

Samuel Beckett's classic Absurdist comedy is the story of two friends who bide their time while waiting for Godot. Who is Godot? Why is it so important we wait for him? What do we do while we wait? Where is my hat? Our two heroes ask themselves these and many other questions in their quest for meaning. Their trials are complicated when two travelers who pass by fill our heroes with doubt, dread, and a little bit of relief.

Cast members are:

Vladimir – Jona Edwards
Estragon – Caleb Hunter
Pozzo – Conner Lindsley
Lucky – Jack Lemhouse
Boy – Kaitlynn Baugh

The production is directed by Brian Haimbach, the new head of the theatre program at LCC. Brian was recently seen on stage at Oregon Contemporary Theatre as Dan in "Next to Normal" and directed "Who Am I This Time," at OCT last November.

Waiting for Godot is in the national spotlight recently due to the current Broadway production starring Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen. LCC's production will bring a local perspective of the play acknowledging the similarities between Beckett's vagabonds and our transient friends who frequent downtown.

Performances are February 7-8 and 13-15 at 7:30 and 15 at 2:00. Tickets are $10 General Admission and $5 for Students. Advance tickets can be purchased online at lanecc.edu/tickets.
