EUGENE, Ore. —The Lane Small Business Development Center (Lane SBDC) welcomes Maggie Matoba, new instructor for the AgriBusiness Management Program that begins January 7. Matoba will provide education for owners, family members and key personnel of agricultural businesses. The program provides assistance for any size operation, from startup to well-established. Evening classes will meet during winter and fall terms of 2014, with an extended break during the growing season. Classes will convene at the LCC Downtown Campus, located at 101 W. 10th Avenue, Room 303, in Eugene. Registration for the program closes December 15.
The instructor brings to the program a wealth of experience in the horticulture and agriculture industries. She is a certified horticulture therapist, life-time master gardener, co-owner of a landscape maintenance company and executive director of the nonprofit–Healing Harvest. The recently-retooled AgriBusiness program will meet the specific needs of each operation through classroom instruction, networking with peers, one-on-one advising and on-site visits. It offers the opportunity for key personnel to hone management skills and develop profitable business models for agricultural enterprises. The cost of the program is $499. Class size is limited.
Preregistration is required. For more information, or to register, contact Maggie Matoba at matobam@lanecc.edu or call the Lane SBDC at 541.463.6200.
