Lane Community College offers "Shakespearean Harvest"

Nathan Blakely and Robin Rice perform ShakespeareEugene, Ore. – The Term's End Shakespeare Showcase, presented tri-annually at Lane Community College and produced by the Student Productions Association, presents an abundant array of scenes from the Bard's plays. There will be two free performances on Saturday, December 7, at 2:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M., in the Blue Door Theater, Building 6, on the main campus. The show runs under two hours.

Guest artists include Michelle Nordella, two retired Faculty members - Patrick Torelle (as Richard III) and Bill Woolum (Narrator) - and musicians Janet Naylor and Wayne Gilbertson.

The performance is the final project for current students of the Theatre Program's Acting Shakespeare class, who are joined by several former students, English Literature students and community actors.

Director Judith "Sparky" Roberts says the Showcase "appeals to lovers of the Bard and those who just want to taste some of his delicious recipes."

The program includes monologues and scenes from: Two Gentlemen of Verona, Richard III, Merchant of Venice, Macbeth, Hamlet, Richard II, As You Like It, Romeo and Juliet, Henry VIII, Merry Wives of Windsor, and Taming of the Shrew.
