Pat Snyder, “Coastal Textures” Opens November 18

“Ross Inlet” by Pat SnyderEUGENE, ORE. – The Lane Community College Art Gallery is proud to present the exhibition, "Coastal Textures" by Coos Bay Artist, Pat Snyder.

Pat Snyder works in acrylics, collage, and printmaking exploring the essence of the Oregon South Coast where he has lived for more than 40 years. He strives to touch the viewer with the organic energy of the area by interpreting the coast's many varied layered and overlapping surfaces. Coastal landscape and its characteristics are diverse with a wealth of colors and textures, as well as other art elements that flow and envelope each other. The variety of our local natural elements allow for escaping into the world of art and enjoying the fun of interpreting and experimenting while within the landscape and at the studio.

Snyder is well recognized and respected for his art and as a former art teacher at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay. His teaching career began in 1967 and included college-level instruction at Southwestern Oregon Community College. He retired from the classroom and has been a working artist and Coos Art Museum volunteer since.
