Brian Kelly named VP of college services at LCC

Brian KellyEUGENE, Ore.—Brian Kelly of Dexter has been named vice president of college services at Lane Community College.

"Brian brings a keen understanding of the enterprise and business side of the house, leadership in sustainability, and the role of college services towards our core mission of learning," President Mary Spilde announced to college employees.

Kelly has  extensive experience in higher education administration, facility management, conference center management, event planning, culinary and hospitality education, and a track record of fiscal and environmental sustainability.

He was division dean of Conference and Culinary Services and the Institute for Sustainable Practices at Lane since 2008 and was the food and beverage manager for three years before that. He has owned his own catering businesses and has taught in both two-year and four-year institutions.

He has a master's in business administration from Marylhurst University and a bachelor's from Southern Illinois University and additional education in sustainable business systems, college and university auxiliary services, wine and viticulture, sustainability, and culinary arts and hospitality management.

Kelly is an active volunteer for a variety of community groups and projects including the annual Whiteaker Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

Under his leadership, Lane's culinary arts and hospitality management programs became the only joint-accredited programs in the Pacific Northwest including accreditation from the Accrediting Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration and the American Culinary Federation Foundation Accrediting Commission.
