LCC President Mary Spilde to receive national leadership award

Lane Community College President Mary SpildeEUGENE, OR – The National Council for Continuing Education and Training (NCCET) will present its 2013 National Leadership Award to Lane Community College President Mary Spilde.

The award recognizes an individual who has contributed to the field of community services programming, continuing professional education, workforce and economic development, or learning technologies, and who has demonstrated support for NCCET. The council helps colleges stay up to date on new trends and provides access to leading-edge programs that are innovative, replicable, and sustainable.

Spilde is a nationally known authority on community colleges, workforce development and sustainability and is a sought-after presenter, author and spokesperson. She has served on many boards including current membership on the League for Innovation in the Community College and the Oregon Education Investment Board. Lane's sixth president since 2001, Spilde has 33 years overall in higher education administration.

The NCCET National Leadership Award will be presented at the council's annual conference October 7-9 in Baltimore.
