Eugene, Or - On June 9, 2013 at 3:00pm pm the Lane Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Hisao Watanabe will present "An Afternoon of Russian Romanticism" at the Ragozzino Performance Hall on the Lane Community College main campus.
The program includes Piotr Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 in e, Op. 64; and Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in c, Op. 18, featuring Hung-Yun Chu on piano.
A native of Taiwan, Hung-Yun holds a Doctoral degree in Piano Performance and Piano Accompanying from the University of Oregon, where she studied with Dean Kramer, and a Masters degree in Piano Performance from Peabody Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Marian Hahn. She has been selected to perform in many competitions, including the International Taipei Piano Competition (2003), the Rachmaninoff International Piano competition (2002), and the Baltimore Music Club competition (1997). In addition to competition appearances, Hung-Yun was invited to perform a Baltimore premiere of "Duo Ye" by renowned composer Chen Yi in 1997.
Tickets are $5 General Admission and $3 for students, staff and seniors 55 and over.
